Mallie is a shopping helper run by Roofus Ventures. This page explains what we collect when you use askmallie.com, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your personal information.

What you give us

If you create an account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored by our sign-in provider in scrambled form; we can't see them.

Account settings you choose to add: your ZIP code, favorite stores and clothing sizes.

What you type or tap to ask Mallie for, such as a product name, a recipe, a garden month or a home project.

What stays on your phone

Your closet, grocery list and saved items are kept in your browser on your own device, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data deletes them. Photos you pick with Snap are not uploaded.

If you use the barcode scanner, Mallie uses your camera only while the scanner is open. The barcode is read on your phone. No photo or video leaves your device; only the barcode number is sent as a price search.

Who helps us answer you

To find prices and plans, Mallie sends the details of your request to these services, and only what each one needs:

  • SerpApi, for online prices (your search words).
  • Kroger, for grocery prices and nearby stock (your search and ZIP code).
  • Google Maps, for gas prices (your ZIP code).
  • Anthropic, the AI company behind Claude, for outfits, recipes, garden plans and home projects (your request; for outfits, text descriptions of the items you picked and of the rest of your closet, never photos).
  • Lovable Cloud, which hosts the site, stores accounts and records error reports.

Each service handles the data under its own privacy policy.

Logs, storage and tracking

If you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay logged in. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, for security and troubleshooting.

Mallie doesn't use advertising cookies or let other companies track you across sites. Because we don't track you across sites, Mallie works the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.

We also count visits with our own simple counter. It saves a random ID in your browser (not a cookie) and records the page you view, the site that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, and whether you’re on a phone, tablet or computer. The counter itself doesn’t store your name, email or IP address, and we don’t sell or share this data or use it for ads. You can remove the ID any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information, we don't show third-party ads, and we don't use your data to build an advertising profile.

Your choices

You can use Mallie without an account. You can change your account settings anytime on the Account page. To delete your account and its settings, email us at the address below and we'll remove them within 30 days.

Kids

Mallie isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
